You too can add your thoughts

Should you wish to add your thoughts to this site, you can click on the little "COMMENT" word and add what you wish. Dave will be getting these read to him now that we know he understands what we are saying. You will have to establish a Google Account which is free and pretty easy if you don't have one. I don't know why, it just says you have to.

There are literally jillions of people praying for you, okay well maybe not jillions but certainly hundreds and probably thousands. I hope I can be of help in some way to Marla. I'm hoping we'll be bringing you home while I'm in Cali so I can help with that, too. I love you and miss you - see you tomorrow! XOXO

Dave and Marla,
God is good! I'm so encouraged by reading about the progress that has occured in the past few days. Although the future is unknowing to any of us, we can rest in knowing that God's promises are TRUE and He will never leave or forsake us. You and your family know the goodness of the Lord's character and as David cried out, uncertain of his future while running from King Saul, you also can say, "For my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings I will make my refuge." Psalm 57:1 Know that you continue to be in my prayers. "Be still and know that I am God." Ps 46:10

Hello Dave and family, I am currently on the phone with my parents and we just called the house and are on the blog spot together learning of Dave's wonderful progress. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers, especially Uncle Dave and please contact me if I can do anything at all. I am just up in San Diego, not a big drive at all. When Dave gets home and is feeling better, I would love to come up to the house and see you all and catch up on all of the good times we have been lucky to have had. Take care and all my love, Jean Selvaggio

Dave,

Thank you for this opportunity to pass along my thoughts and prayers. Needless to say,you have been in my prayers and Masses intentions ever since of learned of your surgery.

Dave, God has granted you your first miracle. You are alive; and from what I understand, your basic motor skills are in tact.

With advancemente in medicine and the prayers or the faith-full, God will take care of the rest of your concerns.

I will begin a novena to Our Lady of Guadalupe whose feast is December 12th. I have great faith in the power of her intercessory prayer. As she told Juan Diego when he was very concerned about his uncle's health, "This illness will not result in death. Am I not your mother; have I not always cared for you."

I will also contact some of my friends who are cloistered nuns and ask them to put you on their prayer list.

Let me close with the words of Julian of Norwich, a 13th c. mystic, "All will be well, all will be well, in the manner of all things, all will be well." And they will.

If I can be of any assistance, please feel free to call me.

God bless,
Fr. Matt

Dave & Marla,
We have been trying to post on this
blog since last Saturday, but we have never used one before (now that we are retired we can't keep up with all the newer stuff!)
Dave, we were devestated to hear of your situation. We still look back on the good times the families had together (especially the Lake Mead fiasco when we almost sank the boat).
Although we have moved far apart and have not had a lot of communi-cation recently, we still look at you and Marla as two of our oldest, bestest friends.
Our thoughts and prayers are with both of you. City of Hope is one of the best hospitals in the country and will certainly take excellent care of you. (Ron worked for Berg at City of Hope for many years, so watch which light switch you turn on.)
I hope this gets to you, its our third attempt.
God bless you.

What faith and sense of humor and love with all your friends and family!! I know you will come out of this better than ever! Now for a very important message.... Judy & I just finished playing our new golf course at the Plantation.. WOW is ever great!!!I have a tee time for us in Feb when you arrive. You are going to love this course. Now don't expect extra strokes cause you won't get any from me even though I birdied the first hole and shot a 79. Looking forward to You and Marla visiting.

Dave and Marlene,
Our thoughts and prayers will be with you as you work through this ordeal.
Sherry and I both have had to previously do it and you can too.
Keep your sense of humor because you'll need it! You will be poked, prodded, stuck, humbled, harrassed, humiliated, etc until you wake up one day and its over.
Then life continues with a fresh beginning.
You've had one test and done beautifully and you will prevail again.
Keep your chin up even if Joe has to hold it, or we'll send Ernie to come do it. On second thought I'm sure we would have a very long list of volunteers if needed.
We'll be praying for you!
